Freaky Accident

Normally we visit shopping malls with various intentions from window shoppings, groceries, food and beverages outlets, entertainments, hobbies and certain extend paying our bills.

How convenience the concept of all in one and never cross one's mind that the package also inclusive of automobile accidents.

It was just proven last Sunday at the KB Mall in Kelantan when 2 students were killed in the mishap. The freaky accident took place at 5p.m., two students from Masterskills College Siti Nuramira Samsuddin, 19, and Siti Nurdiana Azman, 18, were crushed to death when the car driven by Nurain Said, 17, lost control and crashed through the car park wall and plunged onto the escalator at the concourse of the shopping mall.

The initial investigation revealed that the 1.8m wall at the KB Mall was built with bricks without any reinforcement steel and would collapse subject to impact.

It was really upset that this was the second time that accident occurred due to negligence. First case was the suspension bridge in Kampar, Perak which was built not according to any building standards.

I wonder what is the role of CIDB and local authorities in this matter? Is it the contractors or architects to be totally responsible on all the accountability?
