The Birth

It was reported that a teenage mother was given over 100 stitches (even some without anaesthetic) after delivering her first child.

She delivered her baby boy naturally and had to endure the pain from the horrendous experience after childbirth due to the usage of wrong thread size.

Initially, she was stitched up by a lady doctor and a trainee doctor after the delivery. Later, the stitches were removed by a medical officer claiming that the wrong thread size had been used.

He re-stitched her without anaesthetic.

Worse was to come when a doctor in charge announced that the thread used by the medical officer was also incorrect. Again she had to go through the removal and restitches process.

She also claimed that during the process, one of the doctors had accidentally injured her thigh causing her to suffer a 3-inch cut.

I understand the poor lady predicament who is currently phobia of having another pregnancy which lead to another childbirth after the unpleasant experience.

Hopefully she recovers from her trauma and takes things step by step.

To the doctors and medical officers, I know that your department (gynaecologist & obstetrician), is the most busy one, but please exercise extra careful and have some mercy as you are dealing with human beings and not fishes whereby you can easily cut and stitch up to your desire...
