2012...?

I watched the movie 2012 but not up to my expectation. To me it was just combination of 'Titanic' plus prehistorical period, 'Lost of the World' , adventures.

I am not going to comment on the film as different people have different taste and preference. Anyway, I like to touch on the 'global warming' which was the core issue touched in the film.

It was reported that a monster iceberg, twice the size of Hong Kong Island, has been spotted drifting towards Australia, precisely about 1700 km south of the country. The scientist described it as once in a century event.

Australian glaciologist, Neal Young, of Australian Antartic Divivsion said that the iceberg measured about 140sq km which was almost double of Hong Kong Island surface area which measured at 80sq km.

He added that he was unaware of such a large iceberg being found in the area since the days when 19th century clipper ships sailed between Britain and Australia.

So, could this be part of global warming phenomena? If so, we are not that too far from 2012...
