AidilAdha

It is already December...I am unable to update this blog for a week as I went back to my husband's kampung celebrated the AidilAdha or Raya Haji on 10 Zulhijjah (27 Nov '09).

As a ritual, early morning after Subuh prayer, we took our bath (sunat AidilAdha) before proceeded to the masjid for the special Raya prayer. The 'takbir' filled up the atmosphere surrounding the masjid before and after the prayer.

The climax of the AidilAdha was the ceremony of slaughtering livestock animals such as cow and sheep as symbol of sacrificed.

This was the time of the year whereby we would see meat at every house as main dishes ranging from curry to rendang.

However, the spirit of the sacrifice was not really felt....may be those in Mecca, had to deal with all sorts of obstacles while performing the pilgrimage would have a better understanding of sacrifice...
