Very interesting findings pointed out by The Star on the wife's right to hubby's assets...
Harta Sepencarian (joint assets accrued during the marriage) only common for women in divorce but not in death as Muslim widows do not know their rights and entitlement.
It is common, that the wives think they are only entitled only to one-eight of the husband's assets according to faraid system(Islamic inheritance law and distribution of estate).
According to Rafie Omar, the CEO of AmanahRaya Legacy Services, women in Malaysia contribute to the success of their husbands, so they should claim the entitlement of harta sepencarian plus the faraid portion. Housewives are not excluded from the entitlement.
So, hopefully all Malaysian women know our rights...
and realize how lucky we are to be born as Muslims women...
