Fishy

Warning! Do not disclose your mother's maiden name to anyone through the phone unless you are certain of the caller's identity.

A businessman, Ho Yuen Wei, had landed himself in RM40 000 credit card bill after he became the victim of identity theft.

It started a month ago, when he received a call supposedly from a bank offered him a platinum card for his promptness in paying his car loan instalments.

He needed to verify some questions to ascertain his identity before the card been released.

Normally he was very careful but he was so convinced by the caller being accurate of his personal particulars including the loan and monthly installments.

He dropped his guard and provided his mother's maiden name as proof of his identity.

He sensed something amiss when he was informed on April 12 that the card, which he had yet to receive, had been activated.

Upon checking with the bank, he was shocked to find it was used to purchase of handbag, a watch and some electronic items on April 4 & 5 amounting to RM40K.

This is the price that he has to pay ... it costs him a Viva Perodua...

Something fishy...either you are a big or small fish, you will get caught once you open your mouth...
