Expiry Date

The Star today highlighted that more Malaysians are considering cosmetic surgery to improve appearance. It looks like the cosmetic surgery industries are blooming despite few reports on fatality cases involving negligence or complications.

Earlier, I came across the article "It's face or figure, after all" in Reader's Digest (Nov 2009) issue.

It touched on the issue that belongs to age group over 40 revealed that a full face might be the secret to youthful looks.

President of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgery, Dr Peter Callan, said "As you get older, it tends to be a case of face or figure. If you keep your figure, and your face can end up looking gaunt."

He added " Fat on the face is like carpet beneath the skin. Without it, the face loses volumes and looks almost deflated."

A US study on identical twins found that those over 40 with a slightly higher body mass index (BMI), an average four points higher than their thinner sibling, appeared younger in the face.

In my opinion, this is may be one of the reasons why individuals turn to cosmetic plastic surgery. No pain no gain.

Believed that the advancement of science and technologies might do wonders. Is it true that you really can hide your original age through your physical appearance?

What about your internal organs...are there any booster or replacement (at the moment only transplants available, yet it's not at your own comfort)?

Or the scientists are on the way to create youthful portions...

This reminded me of the movie "Till Death Do Us Apart" in the '90s starred by Meg Ryan, Merryl Streep and Bruce Waynes.

Anyway, believe that "rules of nature", everything has expiry date....
